Junior's Composer Competition

  • Through this contest, sponsored by the Florida Federation of Music Clubs, Inc., junior composers through the age of18 have the opportunity to express their musical creativity by writing their own compositions. Any medium is accepted (keyboard, voice, other instruments or any combination thereof). Judges take into account both content and musicianship when judging. They give equal consideration to handwritten manuscripts and computer-generated manuscripts.  The abilities of the entrants for the age bracket in which they are entered are taken into account. Refer to FFMC Form JR 7-3 for Judge's Rating Sheet for FFMC Contest. Students will receive valuable feedback. Juniors may enter only one composition in their State Junior Composer's Contest. First and Second Place winners of the FFMC Junior Composition Contest will be awarded their trophy or ribbon at the FFMC State Junior Convention in May. Check the calendar for location and date. If unable to attend, you or your teacher may request that your trophy or ribbon be mailed to you.
