Location: Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 811 Orange Camp Road, Deland (In
the Fellowship Hall)
Who May Participate? The
science fair is open to all homeschoolers in the area!!!
Entry Forms: An
entry form must be completed for every child participating and turned in by
October 21st. All entries
will be judged, and will receive a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd
place ribbon with feedback from the judges. Students may submit more than one
entry if desired, but an entry form is required for each individual project.
GUIDELINES:
Each student will be
given time to present his or her project to the judges. Please have a verbal
presentation prepared, and DO NOT read a report word for word. Note cards
outlining your presentation are suggested.
Make a project board
to display your experiment data and results. Include a main title, headings,
pictures, important data, experiment results, etc.
ALL STEPS OF THE
SCIENTIFIC METHOD SHOULD BE INCLUDED:
1. Ask Question
2. Do Background Research
3. Construct Hypothesis
4. Test with an Experiment
5. Analyze Results/Draw Conclusion
6. Report Results
Any topic related to
science will be acceptable. Be creative and have fun with this! Start early!
