2014 Science, History, & Geography Fair

Date / Time:  Monday, April 28, 9:00 – 11:30 AM

Rules / Judging:  The fair is open to all homeschoolers grades K – 12. An entry form must be completed for every child participating and turned in by April 21. All entries will be judged, and will receive a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or Honorable Mention ribbon with feedback from the judges. Set-up for the fair will begin at 9:00 AM, and judging will begin at 9:30 AM. Your child may submit more than one entry if desired, but an entry form is required for each individual project.

Guidelines:  Include your name, grade, and project title in large letters that can easily be identified.

Note: Children in the K/1 level will not be required to include a written report with their projects.

SCIENCE
Two types of projects: experiment project board or experiment model/demonstration

Experiment Project Board: This would be used for an experiment you conducted at an earlier time. Include experiment details and results using the scientific method as a guideline. Include at least two pictures. Include a written report attached to the project board. Participants will be given an opportunity to explain their projects to the judge.

Experiment Model/Demonstration: Set up your model and be ready to demonstrate your experiment for the judge. Include a written report with each step of the scientific method included. Note: not all models will require demonstration, but your written report should clearly explain your model, and participants will be given the opportunity to explain their projects to the judge.
